New plan

First, let me apologize for the silence. It's been too long. I realized that I wasn't doing what I wanted with this blog, which was to post updates about art. My mind has been in a bit of a fog, and instead of focusing on fixing this, I just procrastinated. The plan is coming around and hitting me full on in the face though (thank you Boet).

Second, I'll update you on what has been happening. I started designing for a local restaurant (can't remember if I including this before going AWOL). It's been going well has put more perspective on the reality of being a freelance artist. I'll post again with the official looking announcement, but for the moment know that I am available for your graphic design needs. Any questions, please email me at: melissa@beepear.com.

Other exciting news is starting a second job at a grocery store and learning that soy lecithin is still not ok for me (where's my benedryl?)

Third (and final for this post) is my new plan. I had checked out a bunch of books from the library. Today I went through those books to figure out what had to go back, and what could stay with me for a while longer. Thankfully on the stay list is The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. At least for the next month. I've started almost a dozen books and while I am trying to get through them all this book struck me with a new project sort of idea. I've decided to follow in the footsteps of Julie and Julia (cute movie I might add) and read through this book while posting my thoughts and sketches along the way. Anyone who's interested in following me along this route I've included a link below to Amazon's page (Kindle and Nook versions are available). My hope is to get my very own copy of this book soon for my Nook, but since my car has other ideas I'm super grateful to the library.

The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity [10th Anniversary Edition]

I'll be going through The Artist's Way, but for the time being am skipping the workbook. If you have/get a copy of the workbook and would like to share your thoughts I'd love to hear them! The book is divided into 12 chapters + intros and epilogue. My journey will take place over the next 12 weeks, starting with next week. It'll be like I'm in school all over again. Next weeks' post will come at you on Tuesday, stay tuned! I'll also be posting more Nook screensavers on Fridays, trying to finish out the series that I started. More on that Friday. Which brings me to my last announcement, my new posting schedule: Tuesdays and Fridays. Subscribe, stay tuned, and see ya next time!
